Tony, is that because of the variances from belt to belt?
Reason I ask is that most times just washing the belt seems to take care of a squeal from a new belt (found that out with my Polaris') but this year even after washing I still had some squeal from a new OEM belt... even after a 20 mile break in.
I've read that there can be quite a difference from one OEM belt to another out of the box.

I THINK PART OF THIS ISSUE HERE ALSO IS THE CHANGE YAMAHA MADE FROM THE 8DN-00 BELT TO THE 8DN-01 BELT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Is that a material change or a change in length? I'm under the impression from what I've read that the difference from belt to belt (new) is the length. Which could explain a squeal... but so could a material change.
Both old and new belt I have are the same width and ride at the same height on the secondary yet the new one squeals about 5-10 seconds after stopping. Deflection looks to be the same also.
I've matched them up against one another and don't see any difference but I'm not sure I'd be able to see any real difference in length with just an eyeball.
Oh shoot, sorry for the highjack.
The 01's are just a tad wider,,,,,,,... then the 00...

Whats a "tad" ? and do you think this would affect full shift out on top end? trust me, if one or the other is going to make me go a little faster I am all for it....
