2001 Mountain Max 700 engine problem

Hi guys, I am new at this, not sure if I'm in the right area and I did post this question already but can't seem to find it now. Has anyone seen a problem with engine running in normal idle condition at one point then increasing up to 4000rpm and "burping" at that rpm like it lost a cylinder. All cylinders are sparking so I'm guessing it's a fuel problem. Engine may be running slightly lean right now, is there a sensor maybe detecting that?
 
When did it start acting like that? Have you ridden the sled this year? Cleaned the carbs and got rid of the old gas? The burp could be your clutch engaging, which would bring the rps back down. check around your carb boots at both ends to make sure there is a proper seal.
 
Just this year, changed the fuel twice. Sled does run good otherwise, just seems like an idle problem. The "burping" is actually in the engine, almost like it's not running on all cylinders, and will not move either, "bogs out" when I give throttle.

It may have been a freak occurrence but the second ride with Iridium plugs cost me a tow job and a melted Viper engine. After the $1500 repair job I went back to running the suggested plugs and have not had another issue.

Just my two cents.
 
im with you my sled is going into the shop. ranfine with the old spark plugs put some autolite iridium plugs in and 2 rides later hauck is going to be fixing it.
 
You can check the TORS by disconnecting it and running it back into itself. No adjusting a TORS, when they are shot, they're shot. Sounds like to me your already in burn down.
