how do u test a oil pump on a 2001 srx

are you thinking your pump is bad? if so Yamaha's oil pumps go to wide open when they go south so you will be using a lot more oil when you're running it. not sure how you would be able to check it otherwise. i've had a couple go on 2 differrent sleds over the years and that is how i found out. someone on here might be able to answer your question. ;)!
 
When they go wide open, would they spill oil around the engine and cause a oil build up in the air box?
