1979 Enticer 300 Chain Case

I have a 79 yamaha enticer it's oil injected but I was looking it over the other day and saw a plug in the chain case which made me think about lubrication. I was wondering if anyone here can tell me does the chain case on that sled take its own oil? And if it does than what type and how do I know if it's full? Thanks for the help.

It takes gear oil. 75w80 or whatever is available.

Down by your left foot well on the chain case you will see a large philliph head screw sort of on an angle. Remove that screw, that is your level mark when filling.
