Well, for those of you who havent seen it, here is the airbox I designed for the yamaha triples. I finally spent some time tuning it all in a couple days ago and wanted to report what I had so far. When I was running a gutted airbox with my current setup, I was running 152.5 pto, 150, 150 mains in the sled and it was a little fat on the jetting on an average 20 degree day. With this new airbox, I am now running staggered jetting of 160, 157.5, 160 with fairly good looking plug readings. The mag cylinder is the leanest of them all but is still on the safe end of the spectrum. The PTO actually looks much richer in this picture than in reality but it could probably go down one jet size. Before you all mention it, I am running an iridium plug in the center for no particular reason at all. The sled is now able to walk/jog by our psi piped Vmax-4 running the exact same track.
As for back to back performance comparisons, I have not run the stock airbox against it but the increase in jetting informs me that there is a fairly substantial gain in HP. The combination of the pipes with this airbox also sounds incredible. Just wanted to give you guys an update on the performance of this airbox.
