Has anyone had a problem with the heated carb fitting that is pressed into the head? My new to me sled was idling in my driveway when a fountain of antifreeze came out of the head. Turned out the fitting popped right off. I can press it in with a little resistance but not enough to keep it in there. The seller did say they had a pinhole leak somewhere but didnt remember where as her ex husband was the one that did everything on the sled. I have a new one on order, but i am wondering if i should put some jbweld on it when i press it in?
clean it well and jb or green locktight should do the job keeping it in there.

i think green locktite would make me feel better, i have never had luck with jbweld for some reason.
Do i need to use anything on the new head gasket or just dry fit it? Im used to my cat that has only o-rings.

use either grease or avaiation form-a-gasket on both sides of the gasket. should be good then.

got the new fitting, it was definitely a pressed fit. all is well there now.

I would also make sure you watch the coolant level and bleed it perfectly. The fact that it popped out tells me that the head might have gotten hotter than the fitting. This lets the head fitting hole expand too fast and BLING it pops out. I had it happen on my SXR-700 when my coolant got low and had a bubble in the head.
