The headlights flicker bright dim bright dim. It does it kinda like tuning up and down the volume on a radio by one up and one down quickly.
We notice this starting last night while idling.
I think this is stator related. But I figured I would ask.
It runs fine. Starts fine. Idles fine....
I just don't want the sled to die in the middle of riding and have to tow it home.

Did you add a heatd shield? If so where did you wire it in? If that starts shorting out and pulling too much it will cause the same issue you have. As the motor vibrates it will flicker with the same resonance. Just a thought, I had it happen with my hand warmers.

I added nothing. It does have a heated shield plug but it was there when I bought the sled. I will be checking it out this week. Starting with the stator again.

Im starting to have the same problem, but now the headlight is going completely out at times as well as the dash lights.
Im tearing it apart this weekend, Ill let you know if I find something. If you find out first, shoot me a PM or post here please.

Have you checked out the wire harness under the engine? I would start there first.

When I had the engine out I did not see any problems. I will check it out again.
