Had this sled set up to drag 1000 feet on ice. Went pretty good few time I ran it. Set it back up for trails. My 98 srx with that is all stock drains it. Vforce reeds bender head. Bender pipes, Had 8eks when set it up for trailes no rpm. Put 8bus back on got rpms up to about 8400. seems no matter what I do to rear clutch. As far as springs sled drops rpms down to 8000. Running 4945 helix. 165 main jets has been a little warm. But ran 165 mains on my last one and worked fine.

not sure, havnt done it myself yet, im going to be doing a setup like that soon, but i dont thing most have that big of a main with that setup.

Didn't seem to want to pull 8eks either. Cant believe my old 1200 dollar srx was eating it up.

what was the complete setup w/8ek's? it should be able to pull them just fine, w/like a 51/45 helix or 51/47 helix. you might have power valve issues.

Thinking it is a power valve problem mopar. Motor sounds flat not crisp. Runs fine but sounds quieter then srx with stock can. I have had 4 power valve sleds and this doesn't sound like any of them. Seems like no matter what I do with clutchs still wont pull rpms. buddies stock viper went buy it. Going to check servo motor. Never had a problem with them all these years.

i had the same problem with my viper with benders. frican terrible terrible fuel milage like 3 to 4 miles to the gallon. then it would pull good in the begginng and hit a wall and not run right. i just took mine off and they are forsale. i just couldnt figure out what was going wrong.

i have a high hopes for you though, youll get it

It does sound either power valve related or cdi related and not clutch related. If you can change clutch setups and not notice a change w/tach, something else is up. Buddys vmax4 was giving us some grief like that.....change this and that w/clutching, and it would never get over 7500rpm. Wtf??? Here it was the aftermarket cdi was f'ed up. I have a cdi and servo motors available for sale, if you find out you need them.

Thanks mopar hope to find some time to look at it this week. Pretty sure its power valves. My Last viper with bender pipes ran great never a problem. Could be a short if sled idles low guages dont work till give it a little gas.

how low is it idling? if it idles below 900 rpm, the servo motor should go to wide open position. if you take the servo motor cover off, you can inspect the pulley and note the postion/operation of it. as far as gauges not working till you give it a little gas, probably that at that low rpm, the stator can't make enough juice to power it.

cut the airbox

did you guys cut the airbox ?
g. oli, what do you mean by cut the airbox. i have an 02 viper that i just got. it has a hole cut in the airbox at the rear. is that what you mean, is it supposed to be there or should i cover it up. thank you.

Servo Motor is working! Power valves are gross! They were mint 200 miles ago.Need ajustment to. Talking to guys at bender they think I out smarted myself. Was running 162.5 mains when had it set up for ice. Went to 165. and have been running 93 with octain booster. Why to fat!!!! We will see once i put it all back together.

Think that to easy of a answer sky dog? Sounds to easy to me to. Seems like sled isn't getting enuff spark. My last one run fine with 165. right up to 40 degrees. When got rpm down to 900. and vales opened sled sounded like it should. This thing sounds flat. My srx sounds crisp you can here it change tune. this thing sounds flat threw the rpms.

I had a buddy with Bender pipes on a Viper after sled got up to running temp the pipes would heat soak and the sled was flat, just a Dog! It was the pipes, he put some SLPs on and sled runs great! I Bet it is the Bender pipes buddy....... :o| :o|

You have stock pipe? If you do i think it is worth your time to toss it on and run her.

My last on ran good. Wrecked alot of peoples pride. Would run toe to toe with all the 800 triples. I do know what you mean about when it got hot. Would beat people first couple runs then they would beat me. But this thing is a dog from the minute you start it. And just keeps getting worse buddies stock one beats it.
