Viper with bender pipes is a dog.

ok buddy did you check the basics? Leak down? Volts? Look at piston wash on all three cyls are they the same? Does it feel like motor down on power or some thing in drive train? Clutches? Take belt off turn 2ndary does it feel free?

Clutches are spotless you could eat off them.Had 8bus speed track with 196 chisels sled was turning 8400 8500.Beat a mack z 800 set up same way. Changed track and raised it back up. Motor is new 3 new cylinders three new pistons. Wash is same on all three gross way fat! Had it dead nuts when running 1000ft low 20s 98 powermist mixed with gas 162.5 mains. put stock weights back in with top rivet changed to bender specs. 8000 rpm. Put 8bus back in that i had took full gram out of tip since last time i used them. 8200. Cant find any chaffed wires and servo motor is working.

Bob does tps tell power valves to open and close? Because when I did the 900 rpm trick. Motor sounded crisp like it should.

Nope...TPS only sends signal to CDI to control part throttle timing curve when it is operating correctly.
The CDI has control of Power Valves by RPM signals from the stator.

Im thinking could be stator then? Like i said thing sounds flat when it went to 900 and I saw that servo move sounded crisp like my old 98 that smokes it. 98 tps same. could rob it off my 98 and try it. After reading your post though sounds like blue had same problem as mine. Did your sled sound wrong flat like a tired motor?

TPS is only on the 2000/01/02 SRXs and the Vipers. My sled also sounded "flat" like it was rich or had clutching issues or too much drag on top...that is why I was on the hunt for a cure for so long. I always suspected ignition timing issues and thru the process of ellimination finally ended up at the TPS.

Yea look at TPS, with out good timming, she would sound and be real flat!! If you load the stator...high lights, handwarms up all the way. Does the sled change at all? What are your volts? A buddy has a 2000 SRX with bad stator 9.50volts sled still pulls good weight and RPM,did not drop RPM at all. Does TPS have a 5 Volt Reference?

The TPS are the same so if it works good on your freinds it would be worth a try on yours then you could elliminate another possible problem without having to spend cash on something that may not be needed.
