I have been looking for a way to solve the higher reving takeoff on my wifes venture 500 twin to more suite her riding style which is slow really easy takeoffs and the spring recommended is a yellow white yellow which is softer than stock, however I need a part # to buy this spring from my locall dealer. Does anyone know what this part # may be?

all I could see was white outside and pink on the inside I cannot tell if it is white on the other end because its still in the clutch, but I assume it is WPW What exactly am I looking at on the chart that I just located. Is it the total force or what. Again I am simply trying to make this thing take off at a lower rev like my sxr 700 tripple. I know they are different motors but I want my sled back from my wife!

the part # from the tec pages is 90501-603L2-00. that is still a pretty agressive spring. have you considered re-clutching it?

I wanted to do a simple cost effective change, however if I cant get something to work I may have to reclutch or buy a fourstroke because they seem to lug around much better.

Yellow White Yellow in my opinion would not be the correct spring. What you need is a spring with less preload and the same rate. The YWY is higher preload and higher rate. If I remember correct you want a spring with 20kg preload compared to the stock 30kg which will give you engagement of about 3000 rpms. Every 5kg less will drop you about 500rpms. Check out the tech pages and you should be able to find a spring that will match. Now the total force and free length will be a little different, but maybe someone here can predict what effect that will have on overall clutching. I don't have the experience to be able to predict this, but some here likely will.
