This my first post so cut me a lttle slack if I do any thing wrong. Bought a 2000 srx and a 2000 sxr this year, both 700's. Cleaned carbs on both all by myself (with help from tech pages) AWESOME! My question is my local gas station has ethanol free regular fuel 89 octane. I understand Ethanol is evil But I am thinking tham premium with ethanol is better than 89 octane? yes, no,maybe so? Would love to hear other opinions and thanks in advance

lf you really must run fuel with ethanol, use stabil marine stabilzer (the green stuff) its supposed to help. However i dont really think its been around long enough to prove itself as a problem solver.

l avoid the stuff like the plague and use 91oct red marine fuel, which is ethanol free (and tax free;) or lower tax, cheaper anyways.

Personally i would run the 89 oct unmolested gas if your sleds are bone stock engine wise, and keep a ear out for detonation.

Mabey it's just me, but I would run pretty much any octane (yes 87) fuel that doesn't have ethanol, before I ran any octane fuel that has ethanol(91 and up). More than likely, that 87 will be fresher fuel anyway.

And by the wayWELCOME!!!
