update on p85 clutch//speed shop said 500,,all dialed!

went to local speed shop,,,he said he would put a polaris 2001 800 clutch,,,alll dialed in for 500 bucks!!!!!!!!
very tempting,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
think ,,i,m gonna bite on it!
my cost go get clutch,,have no ,idea if works 90/150+

misc parts+frustration

Ok got another lead,,,p85 clutch off 94 poo tripple 100 bucks,,,he,s gonna look over rollers and weights and call me back

I can't help but picture the speed shop guy wringing his hands with a thought bubble floating above... fish on!

Reason being; I just pulled a P85 (500 liquid weights/spring) off a 800ZRT for a neighbor because it obviously wasn't right but was supposedly "dialed in" and $400 cheap. Then again the reason he called me is because he somehow couldn't get a Cat puller to work...

Hope I'm wrong, good luck.

I probably have weights, helixs and springs if need be.
 
have you contacted tom at hartman inc? he has alot of time and testing on making the p-85 work on the yamahas. used his set-up years ago on a 96 mtn max. worked ok, finding the correct bolt sticks in my mind for some reason.

dont be too disolutioned with the p85, the same components wear just as quick as the oem yamaha parts, if not faster.
 
Have you seen the prices of a yamy clutch,,new or used,,,1 used on ebay bid up to 250+ and still needs rollers/wieghts.

OK,,I Figured out<<<I need clutch off older? polaris xlt tripple ,,
two polaris orings,, 1 flat washer in place of lock washer,lock tite
Hope this helps others
Found puller for 30 bucks to door,,,gonna get clutch of ebay in few days
