Hi everyone I'm new on here but had this 99 sx500 for 10 years, I replaced the stock track with a 02 viper track and installed it backwards to get more traction I'm happy with the track set up comared to what i had. I installed a 47 degree helix from my 600 sx triple in place of the 43 degree and set it at 2-6 and it runs 7800 and seems to pull strong, the primary is stock, I think that with my new added traction i should get the engagement up around 4500 now it comes in @3600 and does't "climb on pipe" for a couple of seconds out of the hole. Any tips on this?
Prior fuel mileage was always 9-10 mpg, I dropped the needles to the top notch from the middle notch and kept the 2 plastic washers under just like before, went on a 140 mile ride last weekend and got 11.1 mpg still have the stock pilot and main jets in yet. Can these 500 twins get the same fuel mileage as the redhead triples 12-14 mpg without having them burn down from being to lean? Thanks in advance this site is awesome....
