SRX vs VIPER > The Good, Bad, & the Ugly

I am pretty fond of the srx as well, but a vmax 4 looks simply menacing from pretty much any angle :) especially with the big "nostrils" on the hood, looks vicious from the front!

Are you my new best friend or what!!!

If two stock versions of this sled were each given $2000.00 for mods, the SRX would probably come out on top, from what I understand? Honestly they seem so close but reliability is huge for me.....rather spend more time riding than wrenching any day. Even in pure stock form, seems the advantage is SRX. If I do get either, the motor wouldn't get any mods but the clutch & suspension might.......just how I feel about messing to much with the motor. Either way their platform is so close, it's a win/win either way.
in thats case, the srx is a good 20hp more in stock form, and the suspensions can be changed rather easily. all depends on what you are looking for in the end.

first of all nice v-max 800 wildmax, dont see many around that are taken care of. personally i would prefer the srx with updated suspension so it comes down to how much the electric start and reverse mean to you. the air induction on the cowl is cool on the vipers but i like the raised hood look and all the vents on the srxs beter, alot meaner looking hood i think.

Yes.....the famed VMAX-4......nothing even comes close in the menacing dept. as that sled & takes top prize in any color.......rock & roll baby!

Here's a question......there was a factory recall on the 98' 700 SRX crank, having to do with either an improperly welded or unwelded crank thus allowing the pins to drop into the crank & seizing the engine. Were there any factory recalls on the 97' 700 Vmax crank & is there any truth that it was only because of the extra HP of triple piped 700's that caused this to happen? Of course we all know that the 97' 700 Vmax was a 3 into 1 pipe.
