Does anyone of hand know what the stock spacer thickness is on the bottom portion of the transfer rod on a 2001 SX600R? I am re adjusting my skid for a more stiffer setup.yesterday with all the hard jumps I was doing and landing hard on the ground..the suspension totally bottomed out and sounded really loud when I landed.I will place FRA to middle from soft.I have 50/50 gap in rods with thin washer bottom and regular washer on top.But the suspension really collaspes down on impact..to soft to say the least.Yet with sled sitting on garage floor..there is no space on the bottom of rods with this thin spacer. So using a thicker one on bottom will probably bring the rear down slightly.

as per bethevipers write up on skids..he recomends the thinner spacer on bottom for long travel sled.My gaps are about 1/2" upper and lower when sitting on the seat. That is 50/50 setup. But does it ever easy to push the rear end right down with my hands because of the upper gap.On my SRX the gaps are around 1/4 up and down.I can lower the upper nuts to reduce the gap..but then the up and lower gaps won't be equal as it stands now. Will move the FRA first and see what happens and go from there.

Blue..A couple years back I set my 144", Viper shocked , SRX on the garage floor and with a print out of Bethevipers instructions I set it up excactly how the instructions say to. Does he ever know his stuff!!!
WOW! What a difference! The "No Action" suspension actually transformed into a "Pro Action"!!!
I would suggest that if his instructions can't be achieved or the results are disappointing there may be a shock or spring issue.

I just put fra setting to the stiffest .I took out the 4mm shim from the bottom and put in some 8mm shims. Now I set my 50/50 and the gaps are about 7 mm each.Still a lot of travel before the top hits. But now the suspension is a little stiffer, better then before where I could push the whole sled down all the way almost,to much coupling without rear shock statring to react.Good enough for me..its just the sxr..the SRX I got it dead on according to betheviper..or close enough for me anyways.
