RA mono shock skid $$$

I was wondering what the going price should be for a used RA mono rear skid in a 121" (Non Ohlins) found in the late year RX-1 or the short track Apexes w/ shock or w/out shock. I have been thinking of installing one in my Viper.

any thoughts are appreciated........
 
Thanks........I saw some on ebay and thought they were too high. I think you answered my question. $800 w/out shock one person is asking and they don't specify if it came out of a 2005 RX-1 or a newer Apex.
 
there was a cheap one on ebay a little while back, had the ohlins though. I recommend the heck out of the mono, let me know if you need a template when you find the right skid ;)
 
I'm considering the same for my viper, but I'm leaning towards the polaris edge skid. 03viper, how tough is the mon install? The Edge seems like a pretty simple swap.

Do you have the Ohlins shock on yours? I talked with a shop in the twin cities that has installed a few and he said to look for the NON Ohlins version being its more of a job to get the electronic shock setup. What machine and year did your skid come out of? I would really like to do this upgrade though. I have had enough of that heavy NO action skid. I am tired of pulling it every year and rebuilding the shocks.

thanks AJ :) journeyman, mine came from an 06 apex I believe, and it has an attak shock. got it from boomer and he had kept the Ohlins and put the attak shock in it if I remember right.
and as far as the edge skid, I dont really think it is much more simple than the mono, just depends on what you want out of the skid in the end
 
I have both -05 and -06 version. I first bought the -05 and back then I dident know its was different. For a couple a weeks ago that skid was bent and broken so I bought a -06 from a ty member. From the beginning I have the kyb but last year I bought a new ohlins shock, manuell adjustment with high/low compression damping and rebound. Its very hard because its made for a heavy sled (apex) so I needed to revalve the shock and now I have order a new spring. 60nm, standard is 70nm. My friend has also a monoshock in his vmax -99 and he has the electric ohlins with display so he can adjust it when he drive. And we have install the skid with apex oem brackets, front and back.

Here is a photo on the -05 skid. Its pretty much the same as -06. Other strap limiter and the later has more reinforcement
 
viperhauck, how have you liked them in your sleds? never really got a lot of feedback from people other than their initial "WOW!!" impressions
 
i put a 121" mono in my 00srx using 03 viper guys template very simple install mine is out of a '05 rx1 i sent it up to a guy off the 4 stroke side he reinforced and powder coated all 3 arms i have the r/a adjust and all i can say is its the best thing you can do to a no-action sled.14lbs. lighter and it transfers weight so much better. for next year im going to install a 136" mono in the srx and put the 121" in my v max4

If the damping is correct adjusted its a very good upgrade. It´s worth every penny
