SRX top speed again

I was running a 1" track with about 144 studs. Have not checked the pv's yet since I just bought it. Would dirty/poorly adjusted power valves cause that much performance loss?

What surface are you guys on when you get these speeds? I could only squeeze out 160 km/h from my 02 srx on hardpack snow. I must have some serious problems with it, hope I didn't buy a dud.

What RMP are you turning? Go thru your clutches and Power Valves?

hardpacked snow and ice are 2 different things.Example with my 600 and I am running dual carbide arrow skis with shaper bars..(more resistance).I could only hit 140 k/h on hard packed snow..but more on ice conditions..where snow has melted abit from warm temps and froze again..am able to get to a tad under 160 k/h.
Same with the SRX's..even worse..on hard packed snow maybe can get 100 to 105 mph,on more ice conditions can easily bury needle, less resistance on track..clutches shift more efficently. Can tell by the black marker I put on the primary..belt has climbed higher..thus ratio changes and more speed.
When guys say they get 110 plus on radar runs..it is because ice is smooth, their tracks are not heavy lugged, they run single crabide skis, they have their suspensions lower to the surface, etc, there is less resitance to slow you down..but do that run and in the middle hit 2 " packed snow..your speedo will drop instantly.
When it comes down to it..you can't be set up for both worlds.Get 2 srx's..one for ice and the other set for snow..problem solved..lol

Yah rev's were around 8500 but i will go through everything this summer.

I guess I wasn't on a super hard surface so that must be why. I was running on a packed trail on the lake but it's not hard as a rock.

Still slow, if it was a 1,5 inch track then I would understand.
What kind of a clutch set up do you have? Took a lot of testing and tuning to get what I have now.

SRX's love hard conditions! If your running in loose snow don't waste your time trying to compare mph #'s. A well set up stock SRX will run up to 125 mph and faster. We have done it a few times with more than 1 sled. In 2000 feet we have put up numbers as high as 119.5 mph. Radar speeds not dream meter. This is with a stock sled lowered with trail track and trail studs. These sleds just keep pulling with the right set up.

Everything is bone stock so I think that's where my problem lies. It's amazing you guys are getting those speeds though, I hope I can get there next year.

Sideshowbob; what did the speedo read on that run?

For the most part I could not see the speedo as I was tucked down and the high bars obscure the speedo, but when I popped my head up at the end of the run the speedo was just over 120mph.

Bob

I also got 112 mph, as measured with a Contour GPS 1080, conditions were good, but not 10/10.
Anyone else have something?

Not an srx, but I got 90 mph on my 2001 MM, measured by the same Contour gps device. Conditions were pretty much just ice.
