I have a 2001 MM700 with the MPI 159 track kit. I already modded the clutches as per MPI and dropped one tooth on the top gear in the chaincase.
My questions about the Reed stopper mods are:
Is the notch made on the top side of the reed assembly only?
Is it done to all three intakes?
If not interested in the Head gasket mod, would you guys still recommend the silencer bore? I'm just a little leary of making it to loud.
My hesitation on the head gasket is only that I'm to damn cheap to buy premium only fuel. My family goes on extended weekend trips and we fuel our sleds right out of the motorhome's tank. I'd hate to pack around gas cans just for my sled. If only one layer is stripped, can you use mid- grade fuel?
I think I already know the answer there.
I ride trails with the family, but am always in search of the powder and spent 90% of the time doing mid size climbs and boondocking.
Please give some opinions on the best overall set up for my situation.
