viper pipe on a sxr

I'm also curious about this, not only from a 700 SX/SXR standpoint, but also would the Viper manifold-pipe-silencer combo be a good upgrade for the Venom 600, or even just the pipe & silencer? (I believe the manifold donut is the same). Anybody ever try this?

hauck claims a 8-10hp gain and yes it will bolt up.

Before people go and order parts, a viper manifold is not going to work on a red head motor, 6 or 700. Ports are different as well as bolt paterns.

I will be surprised if this makes any power over a stock exhaust and maybe less compared to a drilled muffler.

If I get a chance I will call the guy that is running this setup on his redhead 600 and see what he says. This guy knows his stuff. Some people on here probably know him but I don't want to say his name on the internet if you know what I mean.

Ill throw in my shameless plug, of I have a set of 600 Triple Pipes (with manifolds) for a Venom (redhead). Maybe they will work on your sxr?

how much HP do you gain for drilling the silencer???

Exactly right!!

I'm interests in this as well. More hp but not the every day jetting with triple pipes.

So are we saying the donut mount from y-pipe to expansion pipe is the same, and that we need a viper pipe and aftermarket can to make it all fit? Then jet up a size or 2?

I think your going to find that the 15hp shown on the dyno sheet from this mod is folded up in the pages of the Bigfoot autobiography.

I have wished that someone like SLP or bender did make an improved single pipe for the redheads. There are all sorts of pipes for the twins, but I guess there is more of a gain for a triple with triple pipes then an improved single.

I can gaurentee you companys have experimented with a single pipe setup but gains were just not enough for production standards.
