what octane fuel do you run?

wow, you guys bring up good points. never even thought about the 93 octane that i run sitting in the tank so long. whoever said to use midgrade is a genius, if they really mix 87 w/ 93. aint that just like america, put a better grade on the label and charge up the a** for it. even if its really not better quality. so whats better, stale 93 octane or fresh 87 octane? oh yeah, challenging other peoples answers is how ya learn more.(i dont think he was though, just asking questions)
You nailed my thoughts right on the head!!!

I wasn't challenging him I was asking where he gets premium non-ethanol fuel on the trails? You say this like I do it all the time? When have I started a thread and challenged the answers I received?

This is only the second thread of yours that I have followed, and both of them have consisted of you asking questions, getting answers, and then challenging the answers. The other thread was regarding clutching, and it seemed like you were ready to tell YAMMIEGOD(Tony) a thing or two about fast SRX's. LMFAO  Just deal with the answers that you get and be done with it. Dont argue. Sorry for getting :offtopic: . Stick to 91. Thats whats recomended.

You seemed to jump all over Wayne084 and his concerns and suggestions presented in what I would consider a non confrontational way.

We're talking about gasoline sold at different stations (and storage processes) in different states in different markets with different regulations including different ways of oxygenating winterblend fuels resulting in different shelf lives.

What works for you in your region may be catostophic to someone elsewhere.

Seems to me, Yamaha wouldn't go through all the trouble of releasing DCS in '02 on the SRX for giggles. Makes me wonder if the reason the SXV didn't get it in '02 'cause they couldn't keep the light off during development running 87.

No Yammiegod Tony thinks what he says is how everybody better do it or they are wrong. I never said what he gave for an answer was wrong anyways I just stated I wasn't going to be running stock gearing "he said that was wrong" Then I said I was shooting for 115mph in 1000' and he just laughed like it wasn't possible. I wasn't the one trying to argue about anything. If you look at the post you will see it is him trying to argue.

I guess I am not allowed to voice my opinion on a subject! The people on this sight are so darn sensitive!

I only know of one gas station that has 91 octane non-ethanol fuel within 60 mile radious of where I live and it isn't on a trail it is in Red Wing. I have never in all my years of snowmobiling came to a gas station that had premium non-ethanol fuel.

Then u must not get out much guy.
kwik trip in wisconsin has it.

im in new england and pretty much everything is 10% ethanol... i also been out and all that was availiable was 87octane and was ran in the three srx's in my group without a problem... when i have the choice i run the 93octane shell gasoline is supposedly no ethanol... it makes me feel a little better thinking i have a higher (safer/slower) octane rating ...
