Is there any ice or snow buildup underneath? Mine does this when I have buildup. Also were the front heat exchanger protectors left in place? I believe the track (1.25" or larger) will rub on those if not removed. Of course the worst case scenerio is a bad bearing, something out of alignment, chain case issues...etc.

04 vipers came with the ripsaw. might have a bad bearing in the skid or behind the secondary clutch.

If it is studded, you could be feeling the studs running on the ice/solid frozed ground if you have little snow for the track to set on, as they will/should protrude over the lug.

i was looking at the front heat exchanger. on a viper s are there supposed to be some sort of protector? thanks guys
