o1 srx vs. 02 xcr 800 polaris

anyone have any advice of ideas on how this is going to play out tomorrow?
im up against an 02 polaris xcr800 slp pipes...
 

I raced one last year, we ended up racing 3 times we tied twice and then he edged me out buy a ski loop the 3rd race. I was told that xcr was trail ported but didn't believe them

This was 660ft snow drag

Anything can be beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
 
It will be close. depends on who is setup better and who get the best traction and holeshot. If the XCR is setup even remotely good he should edge you out not by much but he should have a slight edge.
 
With slp pipes on the xcr I think he will have an advantage. Stock for stock, he still has 100cc's more in probably the fastest of the polaris chassis out there.
 
An XCR with pipes makes 168 HP and 108 ft lbs. If he is set up anywhere close you will not stand a chance. He should be spinning at right around 8100. If he's over revving his power does drop off quick. These #s came from Dynotech.
 
well hes fast, not quick ...
his sled runs well he edges me out on the big end ... at about 110 on the speedo he starts gaining until then im happy with the old srx...

Treat your engine to trail port and you won't have to worry about anyone again.

So just as we expected, the xcr is faster.

Oh yeah, trail porting does make a big difference. Every sled I've been on that was trail ported made the sled seem like a day and night difference.
 
Well guess what!!!!!! That "faster sled didn't last too long ... Yesterday morning we went out again headin south from ft Kent and I pushed him and we were riding / Racing ... Halfway to our destination there was a yamaha towing a xcr with a melted center cylinder!!! He wasn't too happy ...
 
Did he properly re jet that sled after he piped it?
That can unfortunately happen to any 2 stroke.

yes hes a "polaris nut/tuner"
he only runs xcrs or an x edge chassis all his sleds move out but this acr was a solid sled, we have to find out why this happed as the pto/and #1 cyl plugs were perfect carmel color...

this guy is always changing jets for condition and etc...

get him to buy you a new belt to rub salt in the wound ;)!
