Is changing these bushings something an average dude could do or is it a high tech and expensive tools job? Mine are gone (wore out) on both primary and secondary.
Those bushings are pressed fit and requires a special tool to do so. Also the clutch spider requires a special tool as well the seperate the 2 primary sheaves.

Search for "grunt tool" here and you'll find some home made tools used to disassemble the clutch.
I seen the grunt tool, looks like something I could make. Was wondering more about the bushings. Thanks.

I use an arbor press but have banged them in on my Polaris' before I got the press using race installers.
sgauthier said:i would since you have it apart. i noticed that royal distributing sells the service kit for those primaries which include those 6 sliders. not sure how the quality compares to the OEM parts. a lot cheaper thou, might be worth a try if they have any in stock.![]()
I bought that kit and the one bushing for the cover is made out of plastic and the other for the moveable sheave is some cheap metal with teflon that I can scratch off with my fingernail. The pins for the rollers are also the wrong diameter and length. Going to return it and go OEM. Thanks for the advise anyhow.
