Fro, my cooldown is very simple and very compact, just a small cooler with wheels on it, boat bilge pump mounted in bottom, small motorcycle battery mounted in a bracket inside cooler,on/off switch(toggle) and some clear home depot water hose to hook up to the sled. I fill up old butter bowls with water and make ice blocks for the cooler. I have found that if you simply hook up the sled and run the hot water out of engine into the cooler it will melt your ice as fast as you can put it in. The way to get "all day" from your ice blocks is to simply put the outlet hose into a 5 gallon bucket, turn on the cooler after a pass and run the hot coolant into the bucket. Fill up the bucket then stick the outlet hose from sled engine back into the cooler and cool the engine down, this eliminates the hot water from melting the ice . Let the bucket sit off too the side and cool off. You can dump it back into the cooler after it has lost its hot flash. works good for me, I dont have to haul a bunch of ice and water to use it, and no extra cart in my trailer to take up space. If its something youd like to see I could take a couple pics for you, it cost less then a $100 to make.
Thanks for the info. Pics would be great.
Do you ever have any issues with air getting trapped in the cooling system?

no problem with air pockets with thermostat out.

I will get it out and post some pics of it for you, I will be out of town till sunday so its gonna be a couple days. thanx
