Well I am in the progress off getting ready to prepare for the Flood.Got snow around the house cleared out and started to prepare my Flood Wall.It has been cool out, temps are not to high and a slow melt is under way.But I heard that in Fargo ND,they are going like mad now as they have past their flood stage elevation and it only gets worse.Their water flows North thru Grand Forks and eventually up past my place and the RED RIVER Flood Gates will be in operation(5 miles North of my House) after all ice breaks up and goes North..but our ice is still intact on the River while South of us they are melting faster then we are..should be interesting how this all plays out.Rain and snow their forcast and here also is prdicted.Looks like a cooler April with rain and showers. Its just the beginning.I will update as time goes and take pics to show how things change and the water that creeps up all around me.

Here is some pics of my Flood wall starting to be put up as of now...I still have like 3 to 4 weeks before it all hits.Found myself a 12 foot alum boat and 7.5 HP Merc for emergency purposes.

Thats how our community looked last fall just before the first snowfall

There's going alot of water everywhere

not good Andy..still think unless it becomes like a 1997 flood again..we will be good and safe..but I am the highest property out here..so I am not afraid.

I imagine you's have flood insurance and or required to carry it on a mortgage if you live in a flood plane

no flood insurance. If the Province raises the Flood gates and creat an artificial flood for us guys South..then we are allowed to fill the forms to the Water Diaster Board for compensation for property damage and for us to prepare for the flood and clean up.

BM2..it is just a start..depends if the water will get to high..then will install the plywood around. What do you want to do with you XTC for now..?It needs to be cleaned up,fogged and the such. Can't do mine till after the flood is gone and shed will be clean and dry and then I will fog my 3 sleds.

Sounds like fun Doug, Should of asked me too come help out I didn't think you were setting up already.

You shouldnt be doing any heavy lifting with that crushed nut of yours.

no idea Bob..with the slow melt and more snow/rain coming..hard to tell.Supposed to be a major snow storm starting tonight in Grand Forks also.If they get the snow..like 6 plus inches..it will be their second biggest amount of snow for 1 winter in their history. Both Fargo and Grand Forks are just starting to pass their flood stages..but compared to 2009 and 1997..they still have to rise 20 plus feet yet..long way to go..going to be a late Flood....probably towards the end of April..real late for sure.
