I do have a 22 tooth gear that was fixin to go on mine.......but that's another thread. Also a 70L chain to go with it but yours(more than likely) already has one. You'll have a back up. I got it for $20 plus shipping, so that's what I'll get rid of it for. It'll probably fit in a $5 flat rate box.So we'll just say $25 and it's yours.
The 22 was recomended in the TECH section for my SX7. Mine came stock w/ a 23. And yours might have a 23 as well.
How much 'quid' are you planning to put in her before next season. And how does your track look. Is the fuel up in your area 'cornless'. I need to prioritize things(for your MAX) on my next post depending on your answers.

The manual for my sled says I have 21/40 in the chain case for a 1.9:1 ratio, they must have made some changes down the line.

Do a lot of you guys have electric start and/or reverse? The manual doesn't list the mountain max as having either as even an option and I have both

electric start reverse

electric start adds weight. revese is not common. most of these were shed on mountain max for weight. Yours may have been added by prevoius owner. reverse would be nice. you need to check wich pipes fit electric / reverse. some do not or only with slight mod. heard that if you got a different (smaller) battery and turned it sideways. that is heresay though. reverse sticks out further to the drivers right, into the area most pipes put a larger can. photos of this area might help

I'm away at work right now and not at home with the sled. The reverse is nice. I could live without the electric start as this sled starts second pull in the dead cold, but after not having it on my last sled I'll enjoy having it. My old sled was a 87 polaris indy and dragging it into and out of the truck with no reverse and tugging and tugging to get it going i'll enjoy turning the key.

What do you guys run for fuel? I was planning on running 91 or higher, and trying to buy quality gasoline from a good station like mobil or sunoco. Massachusetts is full into ethanol and I don't want to have any detonation issues, of course I add fuel stabilizer for high moisture environments whenever I fill up just to be safe.

Have had excellent performance with these two and factory recomended octane. There is more 'bang for your buck' at the lowest possible octane that runs well in your sled without detonating before TDC.
I had a couple empty bottles of STABIL(marine formula) that I put the STARTRON in. The stabil bottles are very easy to meter the product out of. Always kept the startron with the sleds when away and fill-ups were likely.

If things don't pick up soon nobody will have money for anything. I work on a supply boat in the gulf of mexico supporting oil exploration and production drilling. Things are slowly starting to come around, but not in the ways we've hoped. They need to let us get things going again and ramp production up.

I like the stabil. I've got some in it now, and will use it next winter when I've got her out again. I'm going to fog mine, clean the carbs (it was at the dealership for 2 years, i'm sure there is some gunk in the bowls) and put it up dry for the summer.

I'm hearing that most, if not all of our shrimp in the US will be comming from the gulf. This due to the horrific problems that have plagued Japan. That should be good news for GUMP.
