Ice scratchers

I want to add a set of ice scratchers to my sleds for next season. Please tell me the source of you ice scratchers, how you like them and post some pics of them. Thanks!!
 
I went with RSI metal ones. Mounted them to the second boggie on the rail. I first did it just to help with cooling on the ice but also found how nice they save your hyfax. I have tons of snow and ice in my suspesion when running them. Im on my phone but if you do a search i have some pics of mine and how mounted. First ride of last season and forgot to run them in marginal conditions. We stopped to meet up with a fellow ty'er and after about a half hour of bs'n i went to take off and no go. Melted the hyfax right to the track. I wont forget again for sure. Have them on all our sleds. Chris
 
What happens when running scratchers on hard pack trails when you come to gravel crossings or the trail diverts to an edge of the road? Do a lot of sand/ rocks get kicked up or is it fine?
 
I guess that would be a personal call. I have left them down for road crossings and a jaunt through the woods to avoid water on the river and they seem to wear great. 2 full seasons on mine and still good to go. I do try and pull them up if i will be on a road for a bit. It can be a PIA but for the most part no biggie. Oh yea if you got reverse got to pull them up too. I havent had to worry about that but not good for this type of scratcher. Chris
 
some claim they do. seems to be an open debate. the theory seems correct. i have a set i am willing to part with if your interested in trying them. they come with a set of drilled saddles, bolt and go. cheap.

lol, marginal might be understating it a little chris. from what i remember it was glare ice with about 2 inches of powder on it. i'ts a good thing i had old carbides on the 'gade or else i wouldn't have been able to move. always fun putting first tracks on the river though.
