Srx or viper

i have seen more problems in just the last couple years with the powervalves. i didnt know for a long time that you were suppost to clean them regularly. got mine almost new(few months old with 400 miles on it) and rode it a few seasons and put on 6,000 miles before i had a pullthrough, most of it really hard riding and alot of drag racing. i always ran good gas and when i first got it i went througha couple quarts of klots and it had amsoil for the rest of its life. i have to say that sled was really good, and i havnt had problems with my viper either, but on the same note i regularly clean em during preseason now. so im undecided i guess. cleaning powervalves during preseason checks isnt that big of a deal to me though so iwould not be turned away from powervalve motors. personally i like the srx (2000 or newer) just spend a few hundred bucks and get some ohlins long travel for front and viper length ohlins in the rear. i would consider upgrading the tracks also. good luck.

yeah takes 15 minutes to clean them.

3400 miles here, no pull through's, and they look like brand new, cables ends don't have a mark on the valve, and they are adjusted to proper spec. not sure how so many pull their valves through?

Best gas and go sled would be the SXr. No power valves to worry about cleaning. little less hp than a viper, but should be able to pick one up cheaper than a viper. The Viper is still one of the best looking sleds though.

100% correct .

If after you get preeeeeetty much anything, and you have some money left, check into a Pioneer L/T shock set up. If not a L/T kit, just send them in to Pioneer and get-em revalved and possible springed for your weight/riding style/riding conditions. Your back will thank you.
