Has anyone upgraded the seat on a 94-96 V-max? You know, the one with TSS front suspension? I just bought a 96 Mountain Max and would like to do a couple "budget" upgrades.
Would a Viper seat fit? Any other seats tried?
Any pictures of a TSS V-max with an updated seat?
Thank you,
Excitable, but soon to be V-maxableTom

best thing to do is add foam to the top of the existing seat or rework it shorter to suit your needs.
for fun, try your exciter seat for fitment. its close, but just doesnt quite meet the tank correctly. you will find this fitment issue to hold true with other models as well.
personally, i prefer a "factory" look as far as fit and finish, and have yet to find one close enough to satisfy.
you have alot to work with there with the plastic forward piece at the tank as well as the "trunk" piece, a few rivets removed/installed, some creativity, new sealed plywood, and an affordable upholstery guy and you can do alot with that oem seat.
shouldnt set you back more than a couple hundred. drill the plastic and the plywood full of holes to aid in the longevity of the seat. skip the plywood and replace with sheet abs or uhmw, drilled out, and the seat will outlast the sled.
