Well i am going through the rear suspension of my 99' Vmax SX.
Im kind of confusd by the online part diagrams.
For the large coil over shock its calling out a "bearing" and 2 "oil seals" for each end.
When in fact when I took it apart it had a two piece "solid bush" like the front shock.
So I am wondering what I need to order to replace the bushings in that...??
Also looking for the 4 bushings/bearings for the ends of the "rod relays"
What have you guys used? I am guessing they are the "bearings" for about $11/piece. (which i think is crazy)
The numbers do not match up correctly to the parts...so thats where the confusion comes from.
Thanks!

not sure what your using for a parts breakdown, but you wont find any bearings or oil seals in the rear skid except for the bogies or rebuildable shocks, and typically the shock seals are not available for purchase to the general public. each pivot point in the skid will consist of a plastic bushings and a steel collars or any combination of each, including the shock pivots. depending on the wording, could be steel bushings and plastic collars.
which online microfische are you referring to? perhaps we can point out the correct numbers?

I know yamaha's parts descriptions are confusing. For the large coil over shock I am looking for the 2 piece bushings for each end.

looks like #66 and #67. they must call them something different for the rebuildable aluminum bodied shock. the ones i have had apart were just plastic bushings with the metal through collar. interesting though.

The "bushings" on the rear shock are needle bearings. Yamaha used bearings in the rear shock but for some odd reason used bushings in the middle shock. BetheViper has write up in the Tech Section on how to rebuild your rear suspension and in it he includes a how-to on adding the bearings to the middle shock as well. It's a good investment, since the bearings last way longer than the bushings, and permits the middle shock to work the way it's supposed to.

What bushings do I need for the relay rods (#74)? Can someone give me the bushing part number? Do i really need the bearings and seals that are shown in the mico fiche?? I removed a plastic bushing a metal sleeve. Would like to replace with the same parts.
