Can anyone tell me the easiest way to put together the front end of my sled? I have the Yamaha manual but I m not sure how I can measure the tie rods accurately...
I took everything apart so everything needs to be adjusted and lined up. It looks like it might be trial and error with the front tie rods..??? Can you tighten the jam nut with the tie rods in the sled.
Does anyone have any picture of the "coffee can shims?" I think I know what to do. But it would be nice to see a couple of pictures before hand.
I attached a picture of the sled with the freshly powder coated hood vents!
Thanks for the help!

Thanks!
Any ideas on how to get the initial tie rod lengths?? Once they are installed then I can make sure the front alignment is correct.

What year and exact model, I might be able to get the installed length from the Tech Book?

I have the tech book. But it shows the measurement from the center of the tie rod end to the center of the other end. Im not sure how to measure from the center of a hole accurately...??
A total overall length would be easier to get an accurate measurement
Its a 1999 Vmax 600 Sx
Thanks!!

With a dial caliper you can determine the inside diameter and work backwards. Measure to the edge of the holes and add 1/2 of both diameters.... you understand what I mean?
