i finisjhing up my 98 srx and putting the last jug back on it ad a piece of it broke then fell down into the crank what can i do to get ths out is there any options or is this sled junk now

Your jug actually broke while you where putting it on?Take a long needle nose pliers or un boldt the engine and tip it up side down.

Would this be the same jug that fell off your seat and broke the bottom of the cylinder? The same one that you were advised by various people to either replace or have fixed as you would have issues if you used it?

Fish the pieces out. Worst case is split the case and get them out that way. Junk?? no, but you need to do things the right way or your just building a mess. They aren't overly complicated to work on, but you have to be willing to take your time, do it correctly, and spend the $$ to do it right. Especially when you have a known issue that you are apparently choosing to ignore (broken cylinder)

Good luck with that one. Ya gotta let that JB Weld harden up first.......Hopefully you didn't do what everyone on here thinks you did.....My grandpa used to say" something's people just dont need to know about"

id say needle nose pliers is the first thing i would try. if that doesnt work pull it, tip it upside down and shake.

this is the same jug that i took to my uncles welding business and had welded but the welded one didnt break it was the other one
I just dont understand how a skirt can braek installing the jug over the piston. It had to be cracked already.

Judging by your other posts this project is well beyond your skill set. Just bring out you a shop, have them fish out the metal from the crank and replace the broken jug and probably ring it.

1 simple phone call or visit and you will know..
Get someone to fix everything up for you..otherwise it is all for nothing...if you haven't done this type of work before,it can be done with the right tools and knowledge and mistakes will happen. We all have been there...

Depends on the shop, of you can provide the parts, maybe 3 hours of labor.Call a shop and find out. At least 300

if you decide to crack open the cases by yourself..don't lay the cases on your seat at least.Let a dealer crack open the cases..you don't want anymore headaches or extra expense to deal with..
How many miles were on the motor that made you decide to change the rings.Did you check the pistons themselves..I am sure they will be out of spec also..mine were after 6000 miles

he should at least have a manual with him and do some reading on the procedure's.I did a lot of reading ahead of time..kept notes and double checked everything. When you take things apart, try to place them in a safe place where no one can knock anything over.Take pics if needed so you know how things and where things go back.Like I mentioned earlier..check your pistons for wear, they may need replacing also, unless you have less then 3000 miles on the original pistons.Always cover the opening to the crankshaft with some kind of rags so if something falls downward it won't find its way to the crank. Now if your uncle welded the pieces back on for you..is it totally smooth on the inside and concave enough, because if it is sloppy..your piston ain't gonna like it...ask more questions but also slow down and take your time..it may save you some money,,

I didn't see any of the other posts but from what I have seen here it sounds like you don't have the skills neccesary to be re-ringing an engine. There is alot more to just pulling the jugs and putting new rings on. Were the rings checked for being gapped right? Were the pistons checked to see if they were in tolerance still? If your uncle is good enough to think he can weld a jug then he must know alot about engines and should have been helping you. Did he weld it and get it smoothed down and within spec?
You state that the recoil is locked up now also! Meaning you obviously tried pullin g over the engine with the piece in the bottom end. What did you wreck when you did that? This engine needs to be pulled out of the sled and have the cases split to inspect the bottom end.

yea i just turned it by the clutch i can feel this piece and it is the ver bottom i have no idea how i am going t get it out and i dont have 500 dollars to take it to a dealer to have it fixed but thanks guys for your advice

is this your first snowmobile? how did you get into the sport? I am assuming you must have friends or relatives that got you into the sport. One of them I hope has some mechanical ability!?!? Get someone to help you work on this thing that has done this before.
