thinking about buying an aftermarket can for my 98 srx what does it take to re jet for it i have never done it how hard is and do you have to open up the carbs to do it

No need to re jet for cans, and as for cans get the Hauck Growler can IMO best sounding can out there ;)!

No jetting changes required. Most cans will lose HP over stock unless you have other work done.

Exactly ^^^ is the sweet sound worth the performance loss? Stock can is the way to go IMHO because of performance, aftermarket can will be lighter however!

My buddies sled lossed major top end power with the hauck can back to back testing on the lake.It was about 8 sled legnths slower racing.

I believe it, not enough back pressure in aftermarket cans.

GUYS HAVE VERY RARE POWER inc silencer for sale. contact me here. 3:16 (YAMMIE TONY)

I have one of those too, it's not for sale though. Also, I gonna have to bend the damn flanges to get it to fit properly.

EVERYTIME I GET A BUG TO TRY ONE OF THESE THINGS, I TAKE MY SRX OUT WITH THE STOCK BOX ON. RATHER BE FAST THAN NOISY. 3:16 (yammie tony)

even with the hauck growlers, my 02 srx is still fast enough to do something reckless with ;)! i did notice a bit of power loss, but i think that the sound i get and heads i turn make up for it ;)!

Could not agree more! The sweet sound of an aftermarket can is very tempting however, and the weight loss should be considered. I read somewhere for every 10 pounds less on a sled, 1 hp is gained back, not sure if this is true or not, may just be a rule of thumb.
