Heel Clickers vs 8bu-10 (Whats better for trails)

Don't get me wong, I rode for 2 years with the 8DN-20s and loved them. I Had an M10 and did a lot of boondockin the woods and did fine. Then I wanted to go faster.

What's your engagement rpm? Do you find it bogs down in powder? That M10 is slowing you down btw!
 
It engaged at like 4200. Stopped up top at 8400. No loss of rpm in the powder. I "Had" an M10. Now its a "BTV" fix pro-action. So its a suuped up stock skid pretty much.
 
Oh nice! 8bu-10 must be similar to 8dn-20 profile because it sounds like a good all around weight with multiple purposes. For as popular as the loaded 8dn-20 setup and 8bu-10 setup is for these SRX's, I don't see that many posted on the clutching page.
 
The 8BU-10 is more aggressive than 8DN-20. The shift curve and weight is pretty uniform on the 20's as opposed to more aggressive and more weight later in the shift on the 8BUs. Am I right on this my Jedi masters of clutching? See I'm Still learning or testing as its referred too around here.
 
if you're having trouble finding bu-10s look into heavy-hitters. if you lay a bu-10 on a heavy hitter the ramp profile is almost identical. the engagement notch and transition part of the ramp are only slightly different. the location of the mass of the heavy hitter is different but they are quite alike how they perform and they're adjustable. I have both and i'd trade 2 sets of my bu-10s for another set of HH's if I had the chance
 
We did alot of testing with Heavy Hitters and found them to be very fast aswell. Great weight for adjustability! We still havent beat our best radar run speed set with bu10's but top speed isnt everything in a trail sled!

You told me last season that you found the 51/43 to be the best helix for the 8BU-10's set up you tried.What were the best primary and 2ndary springs for that setup.... w-w-w or stock spring and green for 2ndary..
Like the way the 8bu's and that helix work together..good pull.
 
Hey Blue, I dont get on here as much during the summer. I'm working on a 4 stroke project right now so if I do get on I generally go to the 4 stroke forms.
Glad to here you got that set up to work in your sled! We run the www primary spring with the green secondary for trail use. When we hit a radar run we will work with a few other combinations aswell. Blue/Brown/Blue primary and red and brown secondary springs. Every day the set up changes a bit for max speeds. Now if you really want that sled to haul in a radar run slam it down and work on the chassis. Theres alot of speed in the chassis set up!
 
can't wait for the snow to fly again to see what the SRX can do.I still wanna put a 1 inch track on again with 144 studs.120 studs now still spun track like crazy on ice.... :o| Going thru the whole skid this fall and check all components good,new bearings,etc..
 
these 8bu10's, what year v max 4 were they on, have 8buoo and heel clicker but gonna build 1 for the trails.

i just picked up i nice set of 2 piece Hauk launch weights, has anyone ever tried them? just picked them up over the summer and will be trying them this winter, i found them on their web site for $199, are they similar to heel klickers? What weight should i start at? I'm looking at a 660 -1000 ft drag set up, plus some groomed trail riding, no top speed runs. i was also thinking about the 8bu00 setup but will be trying the launch weights first,
