Well I would like to avoid running a different oil in all my sleds...
I run Polaris Gold in my 05 edge
And regular Ski Doo oil in my 80' JD Liquifire.
SO with those two choices what should I run in my 99 Sx?
I prefer the Polaris Oil smell....but since the Yammi doesn't have power valves...do I need to run Synthetic??

you may have opened yourself up to some serious debate.
i offer this: in all my 2 strokes, i have never ran anything but the yamalube 2s and some occasional ring free.
i may be lucky or my preventative maintenance pays off, but i have never had any issues running the stuff. hopefully i havent jinxed myself.
compare your 2 oils on hand with the properties of the 2s, of the 2, the poo gold would be my choice. never liked the way the doo oil smelled. always gave me a headache when momentarily stuck behind one.
since your starting nearly fresh anyway, save some money over the poo gold label and try the yamalube.

I have now switched over to Shell Advance Ultra.Has all the qualities that is required, and way cheaper then the Amsoil I used to run.

Definately an invitation for a debate here... But anyways... I've got several Polaris buddies that all run Yamalube. Even a Cat friend that uses it. Not saying it's the best thing out there, but those guys all ride alot and swear by it. I run Amsoil, only because I'm uptight that way...

Really? Any place I found it here it cost just as much as any full synthetic oil. Would you mind telling me where you get it from and for how much?

only found the 4 liter jug at $47.99.Oil probably jumped up in price also.Don't see the 5 liter jugs there, but that is what I bought last winter and price remained same...

the Amsoil at Canadian Tire is only sold in 1 liter jugs at $14.99 each.Times that by 4 gives you about $60.00 for a 4 liter jug comparison...way more money..

Didnt mean to start a debate. Just wondering what would be better between the two oils I have. Sounds like Ill just run Polaris Gold in the Yammi.
I didnt want be stuck running three different oils. Ill probably quite using the Ski Doo oil once I run out. But I have a gallon to burn through and I dont put many miles on the ol John Deere!!
Thanks for the info!
