Gas Gauge Adjustment..??

Well I put 4 gallons of fuel in my 99 Vmax. Gas gauge is reading 1/4 tank...if not slightly less.

Do I need to adjust the float somehow..??

tanks are wider at the bottom and gets smaller towards the top...so that will be ok then...normal.

if you got time to waste..do what I did years back.With the tank completely empty..I added 1 gallon at a time..started up sled and eye balled the fuel gauge.I think on empty (E) it has around 2 gallons.After the 3rd gallon... gauge started moving.Once you have done this and put into your memory where the needle sits approx. at certain amounts,you will have an idea how much fuel you have burnt up while driving.Good to know that on (E) I can still ride some 24 miles or so with the SRX.....

Mabey take a SHARPEE and make a tiny mark where 3,6 & 9 gallons is on the guage.

The gas tank holds 11.7 gals correct??

I always thought it was 12........but yea, close enough.
