Haydays ready SRX

Tony,
Besides, why even bother because the stock ISR PRO classes are just about who is the better cheater. reality is there is NO such thing as a "Stock" class anymore, it's above us average racers. Your kidding yourself if you think that you can take a box-stock / out of the crate sled and you have the same sled as what the factory guys have and can be competitive.
You think Guy Breton is running a production "stock" pipe? PPffss... and what did he get caught for?
Do you think the bearings in their idler wheels are the same as what comes out of the factory? Pffssss...
Do you think their ECU's and CDI boxes are straight off the production line? Ppffsss...

Stick with the mod classes where it's not so easy to dominate by cheating, it's already been proven the SRX can run with the best of them including the lighter twins. Watch what they do in Pro Stock this year, if the results from the last two years at HayDays and Epping are any indication...

Thank You! ;)!

That's a low blow right there, tough to accept!
no low blow here, I don't race against these pros so I race the back yard pros and these pros can be beat LOL!

Yeah man just the three adjectives he used to describe the SRX are tough to take, it certainly was the champ of it's time though! Best of luck in your racing! ;)!

To what mbarryracing posted it is a cheater class "STOCK" and thats what most of the public doesn't know, they think there buying these exact same sleds but don't realize thats not the case.

Calling the SRX slow or obsolete is like calling a 70 Chevelle slow or obsolete. The srx is the original muscle sled and will go down as one of the greats. They still have a great power to weight ratio and still scream down the trials and lakes. 145 horses @ 522 pds that's just over 1 pony for every 4 pds. or .28 ponies per pound.

Compare that to some of the newer sleds and it is still pretty good.. The 09 Polaris Dragon 800 has 100ccs on us, 591 pds and 147 horses. Or the 2009 arctic cat crossfire 800 579 wet @ 143.7 horses.

I'd say the SRX is still a hell of a sled

GOING OFF TOPIC HERE, THE SRX WON,T WIN AT HEYDAYS. THIS IS NOT A COMPARISON TO THE NEW ON THE SNOW OR LAKE. HEY SNOPAX, THINK A 70 CHEVELLE CAN TAKE THE NEW ZO6 CORVETTE OR NEW CAMARO. I STILL RACE A 2000, TRAIL RIDE A 2002. BOUGHT A 99 BRAND NEW. THEIR DINOSAURS. end of storie. SET ONE UP AND WIN AT BARN YARD RACES OR TAKE IT TO HEYDAYS AND WASTE YOUR ENTRY FEE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

maybe someone can find a driver that weighs around 60 lbs..that might help..lol
Andy I am telling ya..get your 12 year old son to ride that SRX in your races...

Here's the same example as Mbarryracing posted earlier and is very true !!!!!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAY! cat finnally built a 163 horse sled that can beat there own 9 year old 140 horse 700 YAAAAAAAAAY.We have a d+d prepped cfr 800 in the area that has done very well on the national circuit winning several events and when they showed up to the local backyard grass drags they would not run the sled until 500 feet was marked out EXACTLY. Its a time bomb waiting to explode at 501 feet, any sled that makes it beyond the 2nd round at a national event is so far from stock it isnt funny. thats why cat dumps tons of money into d+d and they have had those sleds alot longer than 3 weeks our local pro said his was being "built" a month and a half ago for the "stock" class. No disrespect to the guys that are making it to the big time but do not try to pass your sleds off as "stock", ISR tech has a very tough job when its a guy that volunteers 1 race a year and the pro teams spend the entire year cheating there sleds to the max by cutting cylinder decks and re-oringing them and head work that allows for much higher compression while keeping the squish band at stock specs lighter pistons cut for better air flow acid porting cylinders ETC... Thats why the rush does well against other sleds in real world conditions but there is no major polaris backed race teams to "prep" them for major events because polaris spends there race team money elswhere, snocross and hillclimbing mainly.

Agreed. You can absolutely take one and wax the 700 class (and sometimes even the 800 class) at local races where you aren't against the same factory machines that compete at world national events, as the topic was targeted about.
That is, unless Omasta or Hauck show up with their Apex's that run 5.5's... LOL!

Horsepower to weight. Take a look at the PRO F7 sleds and you will see they are all 2003 model years (lightest weight). It took until last year (2011 model year) before Cat had another sled that would compete with the old F7's (that was the CFR 800). From the summer of 1997 to the summer of 2003 the SRX won pretty much every major grass drag in the 700 class and numerous wins in the 800 class too. That is nothing to hang your heads about!

I was just reading the race results for the last month and no SRX's in the top 4 of any race in the last month on grass this is on the NSRA website WOW I guess the SRX is really done, better stick to backyard racing LOL!!!!

I looked thru there to, with times posted, I think the ole SRX would gave em a run or even won, I've run faster times than those posted, but maybe track was crappy.
