I picked up a pair of new pilot 5.7's with the dual carbides for my Viper (My stock skis were shot!!) These have a carbide in the middle and one on the outer edge. My question is what setup should I run for carbides (size,, brands, inner, outer, etc...) My sled has 144 studboys down the middle of a hacksaw track with the fix done on the skid and pioneer revavlved shocks. I mostly do casual hardpacked trail riding, my racer days are long over, lol!! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gil

Havnt tried many on my pilots but I know the little 4" that comes on them in the kit are junk, didn't last long at all. I stepped up to 6" carbides and a little bigger bar and seems to be doing good but they were expensive. Almost think the brand was extreme on em but not entirely sure. Something pioneer had on their rack.

I also had 1.25 ripsaw with 144, ohlins suspension. Also thought id clarify that even the smaller carbides went good just didn't last but a few rides especially in the marginal snow here

i have the same sled, i wanna put pilot 5.7 skis on it. how did you do it? and what parts other then the skis and carbides did you need?

just the rubber mount, and the bolt that goes through the spindle, been a while since ive done it but i think that is all there was to it. most of the shops that sell the skis have kits for you that include all u need, think the mounting kit was like $40 if i remember right

alright, thanks! i'll try it. :letitsnow

You will need ski doo zx chassis rubbers and the zx bolts as they are 130mm your yamaha ones are too short. Other then that they bolt right on to the spindle and you eliminate your saddle. Gil
