I have gotten some more work on the sled done.
I put some RX1 skis. i followed the instructions in the Tech lib for the swap. i am a bit worried that when i lift up the skis don't seem to go up as high as before.

Looking good. Since your in WA with deep snow you should look into extending the track. It is really pretty simple and not too expensive. You can build your own rail extensions so just find a used track that has the same pitch (I think thats what its called) so you can use the same drivers.
As someone else mentioned these are great powder sleds with a long track. No you wont be doing too much high marking but for playing in the powder they are suprisingly good. The stock track just doesnt do the sled justice.
Look for a 136" x 1" or 1.5". I think 1.5" will fit. Have fun.

I was hoping to be able to go test it out this year, but the snow has been not so great. maybe march we will get a nice dump to end the season.
we will see how this summer works out, but i am hoping i can clean it up more and keep my eye out for a track and maybe mod it up for the next season.
I don't really care if its not speed sled, as long as i can have fun and cheap to fix

Not replacing the MAG seal is a bad idea.... you should have done that while you were in there...
136" track is amazing on phazers/exciters and well worth the effort.

Kepp working on that Phazer they are fun sleds to ride, I bought my 92 a few years back for $200, it was seized, so I resleeved the topend, sealed the bottom end, slapped on some 38mm flatslides (still has oil injection) added a PSI pipe, Tempa-flow, skid and skis....all I can say it a blast to ride, built it for my GF but I seem to be on it just as much.
Well as things go i got busy with other things, so its been awhile.
well I decided to pull the motor and do the starting side seals. good thing too thy were shot.
well this bring me to a question, one the motor mounts is busted. should i worry about it or how to fix it?

in general you dont mix and match case halves. maybe not as critical on a low hp fanner as it is on a high hp liquid but worth some thought.

This is starting to get a bit costly huh? I bought a Phazer a month ago for my son for $700 and have since put about $100 and 20-30 hours of work into it cleaning up the rust and replacing parts in the skid. I am buying a DG pipe and some new jetting and clutch weights for another $100. Changed out all skid bearings and chaincase gasket and speedo bearing for another $100. I also found some brand new plastic skis with 6" carbides for $200 from CB Performance. I had a 1" track from a VMAX4 that I'm throwing in there along with some drop brackets. In the end I will have about $1200 invested but the sled looks like new! I plan on putting track and skid back in tomorrow so I will post pictures afterward. I have heard time and time again how much fun this sled is so I dont' have any problems with the $ I put into it. With the extra 12hp from the pipe and the better track this sled should rock! Of course, I am open to more ideas.
