i was trying to figure how to get some bottom end out of my 99 sx 700 it has been extended to 136 inch track with inch and half paddle track but seems to have trouble lifting the skis and isn't reral good of the line
there is all sorts of ways bud, studding it, bigger reed spacers, v-force reeds, pipes, porting, CLUTCHING, and the list will go on.....it all depends on the money situation.
Lifting the skis is a bad thing on yamaha's, as soon as the skis come up you LOOSE traction. Lifting skis way up is an Arctic cat thing, which is why cays don't corner well.
Like Sockeyerun said, drop at least 1 tooth on the top gear, maybe 2. When I went to a 136 on an XTC I had, Hartman Inc suggested getting as close to a 2.0 gear ratio as you can (using the stock 9 tooth drivers).
