MM 700 skis and front suspension

hey fellas,

Been lurking around for a while on this site, its great and has helped with alot over the last cpl yrs. I just bought my 3rd sled and am curious about the MM. its a 2001. 1st ?, both front skis are tilted inward. (almost riding on the far inside plastic of the ski) I am thinking its the bushing,enlongated holes in the ski shoes, or worn down bolts. Also curious what the natural stance of the sled is. my front suspension sit higher than a 99 srx but nothing compared to the member with a picture of his Mviper or MM in the other post in this secyion. His looks like it is sitting much higher. Thanks for the info and the countless hrs of reading.
 
in addition to your ideas, you could have several issues with your front end. check the radius rods for bent and their bushings for wear. check your trailing arms and spindles as well as the tie rods. also look at the ski saddles and the rubbers between the saddles and spindles.

if everything looks ok, you will need to adjust the spindle camber as well as confirming the ski alignment.

in stock format, the mtn max typically had a good 3" over the srx in bumper height, if not more.
 
I hate Yamaha SKi's,
I prefer BRP Piolot Ski 6.9's, I put them on all my Yamaha's, keeps the afloat in deep powder, and there so cheap
 
Im thinking its somthing close to the skis. When I compressed the front end to strap it to wood trailer the skis went level. Im thinking as the suspension went down, the skis wanted to push away from the sled, stuck in the wood they rolled away from the sled. gonna check everything related to where the sled attaches to the ski. Also what does it take to adjust the tie rods to strighten out the spindel going down to the bolt in the ski shoes. In addition, should the trailing arm be coming out of the sled exactly level? both of mine have a very slight upward angle coming outta the sled. Could that bushing there be shot, or is that normal. I will get pics soon if this doesnt paint a decent picture. Thanks yall!!!
 
i would describe the trailing arms as more so running down hill towards the front of the sled.

look at the shocks for signs of oil leakage if it has the stock kyb steel bodied shocks. maybe someone added some that didnt quite fit properly.

I'm reading this as where your trailing arm bolts to the tunnel its running uphill from the sled. having a hard time putting this into words but... so if you're standing behind the sled lets say. and you look towards the front where the rear trailing arm bolt is isn't running level with the ground it's running up away from the ground. if this is what you're saying that's definately not right and there could be a bunch of things going on. could of had a hard hit from some real hang time.
