Sled needs new drivers (10k plus miles) Sled is a 97 sx700. On mine it just has the two drivers in the middle and smooth outer wheels. I've seen on newer sleds they have the two center drivers (like mine) but the outside wheels have drivers on the inside of them as well? should I upgrade to this style? Or should I just get anti-ratchet drivers for the center?

I went with anti rats after going thru 2 sets of origanal drivers .They work like they are supposed to but keep in mind some are to large and will hit the cross tube on your suspenshion unless you remove around 1/4 inch from the top of the plastic teeth.

They are a kimpix brand and i took the axle with the drivers installed over to a guy with a lathe to spin them down.After i had installed every thing and tryed it on a stand of course.lol

My sled had 2000 miles on it when I got it and had the same drivers of which you speak. Even with a broke *** stock track, it'd still ratchet every time I roosted a snowbank. When I got my 1.25" track, I bought a used axle off a guy that already had the 4 factory drivers. I don't know what it came off of or even if it was specific to the newer stuff. That axle has served me well and the sled has about 4500 miles on it right now.

Clipping every window is not necessary, ive been running extravert's on a vmax4 clipped every 3rd window for a couple of seasons with no problems.

Windowing is not hard to do, tedious but not hard. an old chisel , mallet and a block of wood for a backer and you are god to go.

You can run your track loose with extrovert drivers, got to be worth some HP
