This question is more about the adjustment than the bleeding. I did search, but I have a question.

The service manual says to go to WOT and make sure the marks on the pump (lever and body) line up, for 500 and 600 cc vmax's (mine is a 600). My pump has no such marks. For the 700's, it specifies a different procedure, adjusting the oil pump cable for a specific gap. Not sure exactly what gap I'm supposed to be measuring, the manual isn't terribly clear. My oil pump and engine are from a '94 Vmax 600 ST, but going into a '96 vmax XT, so i'm assuming I should be following the procedure for the '94, if there's any difference. What do I do?

Also, I have located the bleed screw on the oil pump. The manual says to disconnect a line, bleed until no bubbles, disconnect another line, bleed until no bubbles (doesn't have good pics on what lines they are talking about) then bleed at the bleeder screw. The way it looks to me, I should be able to bleed at the bleeder screw and that'll take care of all the lines up to the pump, then the pump can push the air out of the system from there. I will be running pre-mix the first tank until i'm sure the injection is working. Does this sound reasonable, just bleeding it at the bleeder screw?

I plan to install the pump to the lines and bleed before I install the engine, so to be able to clean up the mess. When I pulled the engine from the old sled, I unbolted the oil pump before removing the engine, so I just plan to install the reverse of removal. Of course I will adjust it after installation.

Yea I saw that post - problem is, I don't see any alignment marks on my pump!

I'm half tempted to block it off and pre-mix. no worries about oil lines that way. But pre-mixing is a pain. Maybe I can rig up the stock oil tank to hold oil and dispense it into a cup to pre-mix on the trail...
