I'm going through my clutches and am not sure if I should stick with stock or try something else.I currently have y-g-y in the primary and a green secondary spring.I see on most parts list that there is a couple choices for each.I currently have stock weights fully loaded plus one gram washers under each rivet and a 51/43 rx-1 helix all else stock.Should I stick with new versions of what i have or is there a better choice for springs?About 12000 miles on the clutches and it seems to be ready for a good going through!
Josh, When the clutch engages do you like where it engages at or do you want more or less rpm at engagement? Also, if you go with a spring that has a different rate or overall rate you will either over rev or not reach your target rpm. Just a thought.

I'm actually fairly happy with engagement which is about 38-3900 rpm's.In the past Turk told me to stay with stock springs and it works well with correct top rpm's as well.Just curious what others have used I guess.
The only reason to change is if your after "more of something", like want more aggressive shift out-faster in a drag race or more topend, more low end etc. Whenever you change the spring rates youll need to change the actual weight of the arms to coincide with the spring changes or like already said, youll either over rev or under rev target rpm. Same thing with helix changes if you alter the angles alot.
So what I am trying to tell you is if your happy with the way the sled performs and want to go thru the clutchs, likely at 12,000 miles youll be needing new bushings and plastic pucks on the spider, possibly rollers. replace the worn parts and enjoy the sled if its performing as you want at the correct rpm.
