I am about to install an xtra 10 skid in my sled. I have read enough about it, should not be an issue. I want to extend the skid to run a 136" ripsaw 1.5". Are there any gearing issues I should be concerned with? Will 1.5 paddles hit my tub or coolers? Probably make my own tub extender, since I cannot find one anywhere. Sled is basically stock except boysen reeds, freshly rebuilt engine.

you absolutely won't be able to run 1.5 paddles without some major mods. I don't know if smaller drivers would even gain enough room for that. The vmax's also have a rear cooler, so you will need to extend the lines and relocate that.
I have a 94 vmax 600 i had 1.375 stud on 1.25" track. i had to change the front sprockets with 7 teeth sprockets, jack up the back mounts about 2" and bring down the middle wheels and there was lots of room in the front. now i have a m10 with the same track with 8teeth super sprockets to keep the track from skipping and am pretty at the min closeness to everything.

Where did you get those 8 tooth sprockets? I have been looking, but cannot find them. Did you make any gear changes in your gearcase? If so what number top and bottom you running? Thanks for the info tho.

I got them from royal distributing in guelph ontario canada there made by micro belmont engineering. I did some gear change to bring the gear ratio near stock but i don't remember what it was. all try to do the maths and get back to you with that one
what do you have in gears right now 20T and 37T or 39T If you have 37T driven sprocket 20T and 33T is as close your going to get with the 8T. You'll be 0.0164 lower in ratio. You'll need a smaller chain with 70L

Just cracked cases, its got 21 top, 37 bottom. I have decided to go with a 136" 1" hacksaw track with 1.25 studs. Probably going to drop a tooth on top gear, because everbody says these sleds are geared too high. Still looking for 8 tooth drive sprockets tho.
did some looking around tray this for 8 tooth sprockets www.micro-belmont.com or call them at 616 532-2337
