Reed stopper notch?

Is this mod applicable to a 1996 or earlier 600 twin? I saw in the tech page's it was for a 97 or up,just wanted to get a little more info. THANKS!

Depends on which cylinders you have. Our 96 had the boost port (4 bolt reed cages) our 95 did not (six bolt cages.)

So the one with the 4 bolt or boost port will benifit?

Yep. The stopper partially blocks the boost port, the notch opens up the port.

Does anyone have a crankcase laying around that a picture could be taken w/ a modified reed cage. Showing the notch/port area.
