Just got these in the mail from hiperf. look pretty sweet. Any install tips? thanks. Do not bash. Have 1.15 96 redtips I'm adding to ripsaw. Not gonna run tunnel proctors. Back side of backers feel really sharp. I'm gonna smooth them a bit

I have a set of those too but didnt get any instructions with it. Could you scan the instructions and shoot them off to me in an email? I actually thought i ended up with the wrong type since there were no holes in the tunnel...
 
The instruction page is on Hiperf web site. I installed a set on mine. It went easy. Mine actually had front exchangers that had been remove by previous owner. The was a rivet almost exactly where the top pin goes thru. I cut off and punched out the rivet then just enlarged the hole to the right size. Just go slow on the bottom holes (4 of them) There is a gap between the skid plate and the exchanger to give you a little cushion to stop drilling but not much.

when you punched the rivet thru..was it pretty solid up there.I though that punching the rivet up would hit the exchanger.I tried to punch the ones on my SXR but it seemed really solid up there like maybe hitting the exchanger ..so I left my exchangers off in fear of damaging things.But now you say you drilled up there for the pins on your protectors to slide into.That means you miss the exchanger...

The rivet I punched out were directly where they said to drill they appeared to hold the angled plate and the chassis. I could see where the old protector had been welded on each side of the rivet. When I punched the piece of the old rivet out it went into the engine bay area. Gil

Here's a video of them installed. New long drill bit was needed. I have taken some rubber off couple lugs to clear protectors. Gonna stud her now. Should I leave it on the side or push flap up and do from back? thanks. :postwhore
