SXR muffler gutted

I have a 2001 SRX.
I bought another stock muffler for my SRX. I am going to cut her open and remove all of the baffles and stuff and reweld it back together.

In therory this should rebuce weight, flow restrictions and look stock. I don't want to get tagged for riding with a racing silencer.

Has any body tried this mod befor? And do you think this will effect the jetting?
So far my SRX is stock with 144 picks and quick rods.

I have not heard of them gaining any power but its worth a try, I would think you might gain a bit and I think its going to get pretty loud....some sleds do need some back pressure....he might want to just make the silencer exhaust exit quicker.
