No the kill switch wasn't on, this was on a 2000 sxr, had no spark without the key, I used to always run my bravo with the ignition unlugged and was surprised to see that it didn't work on the sxr.yammy said:uh... ya they will start with the ignition unplugged..........you sure you did'nt have the kill switch on?
I am going to go and try this on my 99 tonight, it's been a while since I had to do it. I'm curious to see if it does work that way, according to the wiring diagram the red and brown wire must be connected to run and not connected to shut off.

So I tested this last night and my 99 and 00 sxr both had spark with the ignition unplugged. Strange, I guess there was another reason why it wouldn't start 7 years ago with it unplugged, but fired with another ignition plugged in.
