Where do you guys find replacement bushings for the clutches? Looks like they are no longer available through Yamaha for the Vmax. Have any good aftermarket sources?

Jeremy

High Performance engineering might have them. Which model of Comet do you have? I just completely rebuilt a 102C off an SR-V with all brand new bushings.

No idea at all, where would I find a model/casting number to identify it?

I should update this, guess the parts guy I talked to was mitaken, while the original part number was discontinued it's been superceded to an updated part number.

Good info. A 102C has a 6 sided stamped steel cover on it, 108c is also stamped steel cover, 108EXP has a round Aluminum cover and the 108 4-pro has 4 cam arms/rollers in it. My comet is a 102c Yamaha version so it doesnt say which it is but a regular 102c will have it stamped right on the cover. Otherwise they are usually totally identifiable by the cover alone.

Edited to correct bad info.

All it says on it is Comet, after closer look it's definitely not the OEM unit...DAMMIT!

After a closer look it looks like someone wrote 108EXP on it at one point in time and only has 3 cams.

Thats bad info, the 102c and 108c both have a steel cover but dont interchange, the 108 exp has the round aluminum cover, the 108-4pro also has a round cover and is black.

Thats good info... My bad on the false info. I never payed much attention past the 102c haha. Guess I'll keep my mouth shut on anything but the 102c.
